Lent

Ok,
I made up my mind on what I am giving up for lent,
Listening to any of my C.D.s.
Broadway, Kristen Chenoweth, Non-Broadway.
I would have given up cleaning but my mom wouldn't let me.

Great!

I don't know if I mentioned this to you guys, but typically whatever you give up, you're supposed to give that time or money (if it's something that costs) to God. So anytime you would normally spend listening to music, you should now spend praying. :o)

Okay, you don't have to go that far, but when you're craving music (or in my case, craving snacks after 9pm), that should be a reminder to pray.

And don't forget -- you get to indulge on Sundays! :)

(P.S. Yes, I remembered my password!)

Josh-- this is REALLY exciting! I'm giving up soda every day of Lent (except Sundays, of course!) and I'm doing a "Jewish Fast" (not eating breakfast or lunch) on Wednesdays.

And I concur with what Ryan said-- everytime you think about Broadway or Disney or whatever, it's a trigger to pray. use that time that you would be listening to music or watching musicals to pray.

I also think it's important to be BELIEVE God for something while you are fasting. Make a list of 3 prayer requests of 3 things you want God to do and pray for them.

Finally-- go to 40days.theaterchurch.com and post what you are giving up!
